Wright-by
Design used to be an architectural design service. I
did designs for single family residences in and around the
Findlay, Ohio area. I
have over 30 years of expertise in home planning, structure,
and design. I think my designs worked very well for my
clients and were a very cost effective way of getting THEIR
ideas about what and how they want to live on paper.
In
1999, I was recruited to, and took a position with, the Century Truss Company of
Brighton, Michigan and have moved into a subdivision in the
Brighton Area with my wife Suzette.
I have
also started a Drafting and
Consultation Service
for Single Family Homes, Multi Family Units, Condominium
Projects and construction in general. I can also provide
custom plans and home remodeling designs from your sketches
or preliminary drawings. In addition, by hiring my
company on a per project basis, it will save you the added
expense of hiring temporary drafters, not to mention the
expense of company benefits such as vacations, sick leave
and health insurance. The business is similar to the one I had in
Ohio. The big difference is that instead of doing all the
drafting by hand on the drawing board, it is all done on the
computer. I am currently using AutoCAD 2007. Times change.......
My
work experience is as follows and, I think, speaks for
itself:
Trus Joist Design
Century Truss Company, Brighton,
Michigan
In March of 1999, I took a position
with The Century Truss Company, Inc. of Brighton Michigan. I
am
involved with the Drafting and Engineering of Floor and
Roof Systems being built with Trus Joist Products. The work
is
mainly in the residential market but we also supply
the commercial market. The detailed layouts are done on
AutoCad on which I had made some simple, yet very
detailed blank forms that we work from. I would say
that, without a doubt, the layouts that are developed from
our department are the most highly detailed and easiest to
read layouts in the Construction field.
Architectural Design
Wright ~ by Design, Findlay, Ohio
For three years, I ran a design
service, part time after my regular job, for the Findlay
residential market. I had drawn plans for contractors,
realtors and individual home owners. This includes
designing, from the preliminary stages through to the
finished working drawings of a project. My services
included, Floor plans, Foundation, Elevations, Sections,
Site plans and various Cross Sections as needed.
Roof Truss Design
Automated Building Components, North
Baltimore, Ohio
9 years experience in the Design of
wooden Roof and Floor trusses. This includes an extensive
knowledge of the physical design and manufacturing process
of roof and floor trusses. All truss layouts were drawn in
UniStar, a specialty program for the roof truss industry,
and/or AutoCAD, depending on the complexity of the
project. Also included in my duties was consultation with
local Architects, Designers and Builders in regards to the
roof and floor structures during the early design stages
of different projects.
Architectural Design
W. R. Manley Co. , Findlay, Ohio.
12 Years experience in the Design of
Single Family Homes and State Plan Work. This included the
initial discussions with the client and/or contractor and
developing their ideas along a guided path, of which the
finished product being a set of working drawings. Also
included in my duties was the ordering and scheduling of
all materials for the building of the structure.
Engineering Aide
Seneca County Engineer’s Department,
Tiffin, Ohio
6 years experience working in all areas
of the department. Mainly in charge of Bridge Design and
Replacement, including the ordering and scheduling of
materials and the supervision of the field work being
done. Other duties included, Tax map draftsman,
Coordinating the Survey Crew and researching the records
at the Recorder’s and Auditor’s office for land survey
information.
